FriPad Sketchbook: Skywalker

Morning,

I’m getting the hang of this iPad sketching, slowly. I’m far from mastering it. And I’m a million miles away from the beautifully airbrushed examples they show you on the Sketchbook website.

But, here’s my latest effort. I’m limiting myself to doing these in approx 45 mins. Which is exactly my morning commute.

Star Wars is a hot topic at the moment, what with the uber-edition out on Blu Ray.

FriPad Sketch book

Fripad! Get It?

I guess this could become a regular thing? Depending on how it’s received.

I got an iPad for my 40th birthday last month.

So I’ve been fiddling around with Sketchbook Pro. I think it’s safe to say I don’t think I’ll be able to not draw my comic with ink. You just don’t get that sensitivity with a stylus.

But you never know.

So here is a quick sketch of ‘Perriwinkle’ I did on the train. Took me approx 25 mins.

DON’T PANIC!

Monocle Fans,

Just to let you know I’m away on vacation/holiday whatever you like to call it.

So, from this Monday, 22nd August and for a couple of weeks after, the Mighty Monocle strip will be a little different. The art will be vastly improved and the strips will be even funnier… please, DON’T PANIC!

For the next few weeks I shall be up a hill in Umbria. No, that isn’t that some kind of rhetorical metaphor, I WILL actually be up a hill in Umbria! Simple as that!

So, I’ve cajoled a few of my best web comic pals into doing some guest strips for me.

The first of which will appear tomorrow and I think it’s a brilliant interpretation of life in the Monocle Universe.
