Morning,
A NEW Mighty Monocle comic strip for you!
I can now confirm that the Mighty Monocle will NOT be drinking regularly in such an architecturally intricate, drinking establishment. I spent most of the evening trying to draw it!
Please comment and/or share the strip!

I love the sign out front. I’ll have a round on the picnic table if it’s not too cold.
I understand about the time involved. This is why my elaborate, futuristic science fiction comedy will never get off the ground. It’s a full time drawing job.
My background is technical illustrator. Like, old school Rapidigraph pens on Mylar illustrator. Because of this, my comics always have suffered from too much detail. I have a desire to make them too realistic for some reason. Yeah, it’s a time killer indeed.
Yes, I am aware of the internet phenomenon that is ‘Simon’s Cat’.
Sometimes you need to pull back and remove detail. Take ‘Peanuts’ for example. Very little background detail, but still quite brilliant!
For me the joke is the important thing. No point cramming the strip with irrelevant clutter.
If it doesn’t boost the joke, dump it. One trick is to do a heavy detail panel to set a scene and then go in for a tight close-up on the preceding panel.
Thanks for commenting, PJ.

Yeah, why do you think my comic takes place in a forest? Well, I mean…besides the fact that it’s about Bigfoot. -v
Tell me about it. I figure, less is more. Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
